The city of Preston is based in Lancashire, with the sea nearby on the west, the Lake District to the north and the Yorkshire Dales to the north east, this is a prime location. Luckily transport is also excellent, with the M55 going east and the M6 north, splitting the national parks in two. The town itself is of a reasonable size with a population numbering around 110,000, there is reasonable transport, thanks to a large bus network and a focus on cycling around campus. One other thing students need not fear is the lack of an alcoholic beverage, Preston has moved on from its days of the Temperance movement, where the word 'teetotal' was born from.
