The most accessible, genuinely funny, middle class teacher I've had the pleasure of being a student of. He clearly loves his job.
He only teaches 1 of my modules per year.
The man is a genius. he makes going to university at 9:15 bareable
I only have him twice a week at most
Easily the funniest bloke to sport a tweed jacket. Always makes time for you, he's helpful and makes the work interesting. Right boy.
Don't have him for any modules this year :(
David makes learning accessible and understandable without ever dumbing it down. This is a real skill. He’s engaging as a tutor and very approachable as a person. His no-nonsense, strategic problem solving approach was really helpful to me when I was dealing with stresses and worries related to my degree. If you put in the effort, he will go above and beyond to help you do the best you can. His feedback can seem harsh to some people at first, but it’s always based in wanting you to reach your full potential.
There are certain topics you shouldn’t get him started on unless you want to lose seminar time to one of his rants. They’re enjoyable enough, but if you only have an hour in seminar to discuss something, you don’t necessarily want to hear about his opinions on The Beatles, Sylvia Plath, or Brexit when you should be getting to grips with Derrida or Beckett.
