Canterbury is a world heritage site that relies heavily on tourism for its income. This is due to the retention of numerous historical buildings, from the cathedral to the city walls and St. Augustine's Abbey. The result of this focus is a friendly, fast moving town with a pleasant nightlife slanted towards 'pub culture'. The town is easy to get around and like many similarly sized towns, walking is recommended. London and Gatwick are both an hour away whilst the channel tunnel and Dover are a comfortable 30 minutes away. Booze cruise anyone?
