Probably the most 'handsome' city in the United Kingdom, Edinburgh is a tourist trap for good reason. With half a million people living here and a student population made up of four universities there is a vibrant and energetic feel to the place which is nicely complimented by the stunning architecture and excellent nightlife. If you ignore the hideous parliament building, this is a truly magnificent city. Over the top accolades aside, transport is good and the city centre is easy to walk around, sport thrives, Murrayfield is a good example and whilst the city is on the expensive side, it is not a bad option.
