Dundee plays host to two universities, and is very close to St Andrews. The city itself is reasonably large with a population of around 150,000, all of whom are benefitting from the massive investment aimed at revitalising the waterfront and connecting it to the city. The nightlife is decent and there is a night bus operated for students within the city. Sporting opportunities are impressive, the Cairngorms are to the north for the snow lovers and with golf and fishing being world class there is much to do if you take the day off from the library..
